„Evoluțiile actuale de securitate din vecinătatea noastră directă dovedesc, încă o dată, că măsurile luate de NATO sunt necesare”, a declatat, joi, președintele Klaus Iohannis, în vizită la sediul Brigăzii Multinaţionale Sud-Est, de la Craiova.
„România, la rândul său, este hotărâtă să-și îndeplinească angajamentele asumate, conform deciziilor luate în cadrul Alianței. Din această perspectivă, rolul Brigăzii Multinaționale Sud-Est este cu atât mai important în asigurarea securității regiunii Mării Negre”, a adăugat șeful statului.
Iohannis a mai spus că „NATO reprezintă, fără niciun dubiu, cea mai solidă garanție de securitate pentru România, aspect deosebit de important, mai ales în condițiile acutizării riscurilor, amenințărilor și provocărilor la adresa securității europene”.
„În ceea ce ne privește, România își va îndeplini toate angajamentele asumate, contribuind astfel la statutul NATO de cea mai puternică și eficientă Alianță de apărare colectivă din istorie. (…) Deciziile recente luate de Statele Unite ale Americii și de Franța, care ne sunt aliați și parteneri strategici puternici, de a asigura o prezență militară concretă în România, reprezintă un semnal ferm de coerență și consistență a solidarității euroatlantice”.
