Preşedintele Klaus Iohannis a declarat joi, după invadarea Ucrainei de către trupele rusești, că Rusia s-a demascat că „este agresorul, nu victima” așa cum clama Vladimir Putin zilele trecute.
„În acest context tensionat, se impune fără doar şi poate consolidarea consistentă a Flancului Estic. Forţa noastră este în primul rând aceasta: suntem uniţi, suntem fără teamă şi rămânem neclintiţi, împreună, în faţa unui agresor care ameninţă, prin acţiunile sale, pacea întregii planete”, a arătat șeful statului, după ședința CSAT.
„Dragi români, ştiu că sunteţi îngrijoraţi de conflictul care are loc nu departe de graniţele ţării noastre, dar vă asigur: niciun român nu trebuie să se teamă pentru siguranţa sa şi a familiei sale. Vă asigur că voi lua absolut toate măsurile care se impun, împreună cu Guvernul, Parlamentul României şi aliaţii noştri internaţionali, pentru ca securitatea şi siguranţa cetăţenilor români să nu fie sub nicio formă afectate”, a mai spus Iohannis.
Șeful statului a precizat că „România condamnă ferm agresiunea complet nejustificată, ilegală şi neprovocată a armatei ruse împotriva Ucrainei, care pune în pericol nenumărate vieţi omeneşti”.
„În ultimele săptămâni, Statele Unite ale Americii, NATO, Uniunea Europeană şi întreaga comunitate a statelor democratice au făcut tot posibilul ca diplomaţia să prevaleze. România a fost puternic implicată în adoptarea tuturor deciziilor la nivel aliat şi european şi a pledat întotdeauna pentru continuarea dialogului în vederea detensionării situaţiei de la graniţele Ucrainei. Niciodată nu este însă prea târziu ca vocea raţiunii să învingă. Singura soluţie de a depăşi cu bine această gravă criză este cea diplomatică”, a afirmat Iohannis.
El a insistat că naţiunile democratice nu vor face niciun pas înapoi pentru a proteja valorile.
„Oricât de mult rău ar încerca să facă, ultimii revizionişti ai istoriei trebuie să ştie că lumea pe care vor să o reînvie a apus demult. Noi, naţiunile democratice, suntem aici şi nu facem niciun pas înapoi pentru a ne proteja valorile şi tot ce am construit până acum”, a mai spus preşedintele Klaus Iohannis.
Președintele a evocat apartenenţa României la NATO: „Vreau să subliniez foarte clar: România nu va fi atrasă în conflictul militar din Ucraina”.
Iohannis a asigurat că România „beneficiază de cele mai ample garanţii de securitate posibile”.
„Statutul de membru NATO şi al Uniunii Europene, Parteneriatul Strategic solid cu Statele Unite ale Americii constituie o umbrelă de securitate extrem de solidă. Niciodată în istoria noastră nu am fost mai bine protejaţi în faţa oricărei potenţiale agresiuni”, a adăugat preşedintele.
Iohannis a arătat că România este pregătită să facă faţă oricăror consecinţe economice şi umanitare pe care le-ar putea genera un eventual conflict de durată între Rusia şi Ucraina.
„Încă din 26 ianuarie, în şedinţa CSAT, am analizat toate scenariile posibile şi am luat măsurile necesare pentru a fi pregătiţi indiferent de evoluţia situaţiei. Am discutat şi acum în cadrul şedinţei de astăzi a CSAT despre ultimele evoluţii şi măsurile care trebuie luate urgent pentru a răspunde acestei situaţii de criză majoră. România este pregătită să facă faţă oricăror consecinţe economice şi umanitare pe care le-ar putea genera un eventual conflict de durată între Rusia şi Ucraina”.
