Şapte avalanşe au fost înregistrate numai în cursul zilei de sâmbătă, în Masivul Bucegi.
Iar salvamontiştii din staţiunea Buşteni atrag atenţia că s-a atins cota de risc maxim în legătură cu producerea de astfel de fenomene, iar în aceste condiţii turiştii au primit interdicţie de a urca pe munte.
Cea mai periculoasă zonă este cea cunoscută sub denumirea de Jepii Mici, dar salvamontiştii atrag atenţia că şi în alte zone din Bucegi zăpada a început să o ia la vale.
Riscul de producere a unor avalanşe a crescut la nivel maxim, cinci, astfel că turiştii ar trebui să evite drumeţiile, chiar dacă sunt echipaţi corespunzător.
Deşi în zonă nu a mai nins de câteva zile, salvamontiştii atrag atenţia că ultimul strat de zăpadă depus, care are circa un metru grosime, o poate lua foarte uşor la vale.
