Procurorul general al României, Augustin Lazăr, a declarat vineri, la ședința CSM prezidată de președintele Klaus Iohannis în care a fost aleasă noua conducere a CSM, că provocarea esenţială a anului 2017 a fost cea de apărare a independenţei Justiţiei.
“Anul 2017 a fost caracterizat în cadrul CSM printr-o activitate considerabilă şi printr-o bună conlucrare, în ciuda disputelor şi dezbaterilor care au avut loc, uneori mai aprinse. A fost caracterizat prin nişte provocări fără precedent. Am o experienţă în cadrul Ministerului Public, am urmărit de la înfiinţare Consiliul Superior al Magistraturii. Nu au fost provocări şi temeri în discuţie în faţa CSM de nivelul celor de anul trecut. Am putea spune că provocarea esenţială a fost cea legată de apărarea independenţei Justiţiei ca o valoare a culturii juridice, a societăţii româneşti şi a societăţii în Europa. A fost un moment în care s-a produs o testare a capacităţii magistraţilor de a înţelege, de a dezbate, de a procesa probleme de mare sensibilitate în cadrul Justiţiei române”, a spus Lazăr.
