Traian Băsescu, fostul preşedinte al României, a militat în timpul mandatelor sale pentru ca ţara noastră să treacă într-un timp cât mai scurt la moneda euro.
S-au vehiculat tot felul de variante, 2017, 2019 sau 2021, dar specialiştii susţin că România mai are nevoie de cel puţin şapte ani pentru a putea face trecerea la moneda euro, ceea ce ar însemna nu mai devreme de 1 ianuarie 2023.
Acest scenariu a fost subliniat inclusiv de Bogdan Olteanu, viceguvernator BNR, într-o intervenţie avută la B1 TV. Olteanu dă şi mai sigur intervalul 7-10 ani, ceea ce ar însemna că putem merge cu aşteptările până undeva spre 1 ianuarie 2023.
“Dacă ţara noastră ar începe procesul de aderare la euro, ar putea fi pregătită să adopte moneda euro peste 7-10 ani. Primul pas este luarea deciziei de a demara acest proces. De aici încep o serie întreagă de proceduri, se stabileşte un plan, etc. Cel mai bine ar fi ca la finalul ciclului de relegitimare politică, după alegeri, preşedintele, premierul, Guvernul, Parlamentul şi partea de expertiză să se pună la masa negocierilor, să se consulte şi să ia decizia”, a fost mesajul transmis de Bogdan Olteanu.
Viceguvernatorul BNR spune că “România a ajuns la jumătate din media europeană a PIB pe cap de locuitor şi ar trebui să ajungem la 2/3, cum au făcut şi alte ţări din regiune, pentru a putea spera la adoptarea monedei euro. Însă noi suntem în pericol să dăm înapoi, din cauza măsurilor bugetare de anul trecut”.
Concluzia lui Bogdan Olteanu este că “adoptarea monedei euro este, în acest moment, un obiectiv pe care nu îl putem realiza pentru că anumite măsuri bugetare luate în ultima perioadă sunt în limita periculozităţii pentru a face un pas înapoi”.
