În ciuda problemelor avute cu legea, Marian Vanghelie continuă să se bată pentru un nou mandat de primar la Sectorul 5 şi nu uită războiul pe care îl are cu Liviu Dragnea, preşedintele Partidului Social Democrat şi personaj pe care îl consideră principalul vinovat pentru excluderea sa din PSD.
Vanghelie se bate acum din partea Partidului Dreptăţii Sociale şi spune că nu are emoţii la alegerile din iunie “pentru că am ca şi contracandidaţi doi tineri despre care nu vreau să vorbesc urât, dar cred despre ei că au ajuns prea repede în Parlament şi au ajuns acolo numai pentru că partidele au împins în Parlament copii care nu au nicio legătură cu locaţia respectivă”.
În legătură cu marele său rival, Liviu Dragnea, Vanghelie a spus, într-o intervenţie avută la B1 TV, că “a învăţat să facă politică acolo la el la Teleorman şi credea că România se poate transforma după Teleorman. Dar ca să faci politică îţi trebuie curaj şi demnitate. Ori Dragnea nu are niciuna, nici alta. Dacă veniţi şi îmi spuneţi că Dragnea are curaj şi demnitate, eu mă urc pe clădire şi sar de la etaj. Astea trebuie să ţi le dea Dumnezeu. Te naşti cu ele, nu poţi să le cumperi. Dacă ai demnitate, ai, dacă nu, nu”.
Vanghelie îi acuză pe liderii PSD şi PNL că au dus o campanie murdară de eliminare a partidelor mici şi a candidaţilor independenţi. “Partidele mari cu candidaţi mici au încercat să elimine partide mici cu candidaţi mari sau independenţi. E o harababură în toată ţara. Au încercat să-i elimine pe toţi cei care ar fi putut să le fure voturi. PNL cu cei care nu îi plac pe dreapta, PSD cu cei care nu îi plac pe stânga şi aşa mai departe”, a explicat liderul PDS.
